Talha Naeem

I am a third-year Ph.D. student at the Vancouver School of Economics, University of British Columbia. For the 2024-25 academic year, I am serving as a Solutions Scholar at the UBC Climate Solutions Research Collective

Previously, I worked as a pre-doctoral fellow and research associate at institutions including the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE), the University of Chicago, and New York University (AD), among others. I have also consulted for the World Bank Group. I hold an MSc in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from the LSE and a BSc (Honors) in Financial Economics, Mathematics & Statistics from the University of Toronto (Trinity College).

My research is guided by questions at the intersection of development, environmental, and political economy. From time to time, my interests drift into applied econometrics and macroeconomics—and I rarely resist the temptation.
